The
Integration into the School System of Deaf Children Who Have Mental Health
Problems

Two
educators, one hearing and one deaf, will share their knowledge of the mental
health of deaf and hard of hearing students integrated into French schools in
Ontario. The mental health problems of deaf and hard of hearing children at home
and at school will be described. The presenters will offer personal
testimonials, one from life experience living with deafness, the other from work
with deaf and hard of hearing students. A socio-political analysis of the
context will conclude the presentation.
