Reaching Out - A Virtual Non-Gala Fundraising Update

Reach Canada and its Auction Committee entered 2020 excited to celebrate the 40th Reach Annual Celebrity Auction. After the initial closures due to COVID-19, Reach made the difficult decision to postpone its celebration to a time when the founders and supporters of the organization could be properly recognized. With the postponement of the anniversary event, the Committee pivoted to Reach’s first online fundraising event - Reaching Out - A Virtual Non-Gala.

With a modest fundraising goal of $18,500, Reach set out to provide an hour of entertainment, free of charge, to its supporters while still incorporating the exciting live and silent auction that the organization is known for. Host and Auctioneer Lawrence Greenspon lead the way through an evening with entertainment from Rebecca Noelle, Steve Love, and Johnny Vegas. President Frank McNally and Mayor Jim Watson provided messages of support.

Reach was able to raise $31,011.00 to support access to justice with disabilities through this event, thanks to the incredible support from Gowling WLG (Canada) LLP, McNally Gervan Lawyers LLP, ADR Centre (Canada) Inc., Foord & Crawford LLP, Jewitt McLuckie & Associates LLP, Goldblatt Partners LLP, Ottawa Taxi Ltd, Priority Patient Transfer Service, donations from Souad Tannis & Family, Anne Benedek, The Property Group, Emond Harnden and the fantastic work of auctioneer Lawrence Greenspon.

Thank you to everyone who attended the event, made a donation, purchased an item. Special thanks to Lawrence Greenspon, Rebecca Noelle, Steve Love, Johnny Vegas, Frank McNally, Margaux Beland, Catherine Bélanger, Anne Benedek, Denise Trottier and Jessica Franklin for making this event possible.
